Panther Bowling Strikes Into Season
The Southside Lady Panther Bowling teams begin the 2019-20 season Thursday October 24th at Paradise Lanes in Rainbow City in a regional matchup against Gadsden City. The 3 time defending champions return the entire team that has their eyes on a 4th straight title. Led by seniors Ashlee Hull, Grace Ann Clontz, Cheyanne Bohannon, and Courtney Boren along with juniors Jessica Clontz, Jennifer Clontz, Rose Losco and eighth-grader Keilsy Hull, the Lady Panthers look to continue their historic run in their last season together. “I think this year is going to be our best year ever. We’re so close as a group and all want to finish our time with another ring” said senior captain Ashlee Hull.
The Panther boys will begin their season on October 30th in Talladega against Lincoln. After back to back state tournament appearances, there was a major overhaul on the roster thanks to a large graduating class. With only 2 returning bowlers, senior Dane Klebine and junior Eli Burford, the team will look to new-comers seniors Tyler Roberts, Bailey Sparks, and juniors Aulden Battles and Hayden Fry to lead the way in the upcoming season. “I’m really excited to see what this group of guys can do this year” said Coach Zack Blume. “They’re new to the team but adding a this group of quality young men who are all great competitors will really help us be successful. It’s going to be a great season and we’re all itching to get started.”
